Calling All Artists, Writers, and Mappers!

Have you ever wanted to expand your portfolio and/or have your work published? If you are a talented artist or writer, or like to draw maps in Campaign Cartographer, AND you have a little bit of time to devote to a really cool project, keep reading. If not, click a button in the left panel and move on. If you're still reading, WoL™ will assume that you meet the requirements listed above, and you're interested in participating in the WoL™ project as a member of the Developer Team. Following are more details about exactly what we're looking for, the qualifications you must have to participate, legal requirements for participating, and the Rewards Program which is in place for those who make significant contributions. WoL™ is excited to be able to offer the players of the gaming world the great opportunity to help create this new and exciting fantasy role-playing game! Join Us, and Be A Part of the Adventure!

READ OUR INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY POLICY HERE!

Artists

What We Need: We need Black and White (ink - sorry no pencil sketches) or Color artwork no larger than 8.5"x11". The artwork can be sent to us in either paper form via snail mail or scanned and sent electronically via email. All artwork must be original in concept and have never been published before. Content should not contain "player character" types or other humanoids other than those which are the basic "European Middle Ages" type (humans only - no elves, dwarves, etc.).  WoL™ cultures (races) other than that are likely to look somewhat different from or wear clothing other than what you may be used to in traditional fantasy. Content should contain landscapes, village scenes, buildings (of all traditional fantasy types as well as other real world cultures), monsters (traditional and original), spell effects, battle scenes, domestic and wild animals, and any other "fantasy" concepts you can dream up.

Do You Qualify? The only way to find out if your artwork is what WoL™ needs is to submit something. Read the section below on making submissions for more details. DO NOT SEND ORIGINALS! THEY WILL NOT BE RETURNED TO YOU UNLESS YOU PROVIDE A POSTAGE PAID RETURN ENVELOPE! Artwork must be approved by both the WoL™ Project Coordinator and the WoL™ Art Director in order to be accepted for the final product and qualify the artist for points in the reward program.

Writers

What We Need: Right now, WoL™ needs very short pieces of fiction (2000 words or less) that are somewhat related to our campaign worlde. For now, just send us something that demonstrates your ability to write fiction. We need short stories, epic poems, song lyrics, etc. We will also need Legends and Myths about the people and places and deities and cultures of the worlde, but those can come later, after we read your work and determine if it is of appropriate style for the Worlde of Legends™ project. Be creative, but also know that your work will be edited. Some of your content, if your work is accepted, is very likely to be changed. We know the campaign  worlde better than anyone and will do our best to retain your original work and meet the requirements of the project.

Do You Qualify? The only way to find out if your writing style is what WoL™ needs is to submit something. All work must be submitted in a plain text file (*.txt) via email. No paper submissions will be accepted. Read the section below on making submissions for more details.  All creative writing must be approved by both the WoL™ Project Coordinator and the WoL™ Creative Director in order to be accepted for the final product and qualify the author for points in the reward program.

Mappers

What We Need: Plain and simple - WE NEED MAPS!!!!!  Starting out, we need maps of buildings - everything from cabins to mansions to taverns to inns to merchant shops to keeps and castles. Later we will need cities, towns and villages, but those will be assigned to the better mappers of those on the developers team. Hand drawn maps will be accepted for consideration via snail mail or scanned and sent electronically. Computer created maps will be accepted for consideration via email only.

Do You Qualify? The main qualification for becoming a Mapper member of the WoL™ Developers Team is that you can draw a map. The 2nd most important thing, which is preferred but not required, is that you have a copy of Profantasy Software's Campaign Cartographer 2 version 5+ (preferably 6+).  Read the section below on making submissions for more details.  All maps must be approved by both the WoL™ Project Coordinator in order to be accepted for the final product and qualify the author for points in the reward program.
